Quarterly Presentation at Santa Rosa – Monroe Hall Oct. 27

October 27, 2025 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Charlie Siebenthal will discuss the history of the Albion Branch of the Northwestern Pacific Railroad with pictures and maps from the NWPRRHS Archive.

The NWP inherited the Albion branch in 1906. It was part of the Santa Fe’s contribution to the newly formed NWP.  Its roadbed stretched into the timber lands via the Albion and Navarro rivers. Logs were first hauled to the Albion Mill for cutting into green and dried lumber.  Later the in-land Navarro Mill was built and its lumber products shipped via the Albion Railroad to Albion. Lumber was shipped from Albion by ocean-going vessels to markets to the south. The railroad was equipped with a novel and diverse loco roster.

Coffee and conversation at 7:30 p.m. The program begins at 8:00.  Open to the public, bring a friend or two.  Donations are greatly appreciated.
